Chorus Line, Teen Edition

A Chorus Line: Teen Edition is a full-length, age-appropriate adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical A Chorus Line for high school students and family audiences. The show is about the tension and spirit of a Broadway chorus audition, and explores the ambitions and inner lives of professional Broadway performers. It features memorable musical numbers such as "What I Did for Love," "One," "I Can Do That," "At the Ballet," "The Music and the Mirror," and "I Hope I Get It"

Auditions

Novato auditions:  Monday, Sept. 30th. Larkspur auditions: Wednesday, 10/2

 

Auditions consist of three parts: acting, singing and dance.

Acting: Prepare one of the monologues from the show These will be sent two weeks prior to auditions.

Singing:  prepare a 32 bar cut of a song in your key.  If you have not auditioned in this format before, we invite you to take our audition workshop. 

Dance: You will be taught a dance combination from the show. If you can tap or have additional dance or gymnastics skills, be prepared to share these at auditions. 

Rehearsals

We have one main full cast rehearsal each week, and one day dedicated to small groups and solos.   Choose from:

Novato: Full cast rehearsals Mondays, 6-8:30pm, small group day: Saturdays, 1-4pm

Larkspur: Full cast rehearsals Wednesdays, 4:40-7pm, small group day: Fridays or Saturdays

Performances

Performances are held January 6-11th at the Marin Civic Center Showcase theater. Each cast will perform 2-4x that week.
